In 2003 Caroline and her husband decided to leave their comfortable life in Kent and hectic working life in London with their 4 very young children for an adventure of living in France. Having spent all their summers in Spain they had grown to love the outdoor life and Mediterranean style of family living. Looking back this was probably an act of madness as they had little French and no real idea of what they were coming to. They set off in their old Landrover and settled in the beautiful countryside of SW France.

 

Today they have no regrets and Caroline loves her work running PMC Studio France. She gets to meet fascinating people from all parts of the world who go there to learn or simply enjoy a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

 

PMC Studio France offers a wide range of courses in English and French, from Introduction days to full Certification courses. She works with many materials including glass, ceramics and traditional jewellery making techniques. She works in her stunning studio which is an idyllic environment for being creative and learning.

 

Guests come in a group or on their own to meet new people. Friends or partners not wishing to learn about metal clay can enjoy other courses such as “3 days discovering food – a gastronomic experience” or they may simply prefer to relax by the pool. These holidays can be all inclusive for those who really want a break from all the stresses in life.

 

Caroline has been a qualified teacher since 1990 and has experience in setting up and running training centres teaching practical skills. She is passionate about developing metal clay in France. She is a senior instructor in both PMC and Art Clay and has experience in using a wide range of clays. She also makes bespoke pieces for individuals.
